I am a beginner in flow cytometry and would like any recommendations on any courses or online tutorials that people have found useful for learning how to use flowJo. Is it worth buying the program or purchasing a dongle? Are there other programs that create better charts?

As for choosing between dongle or purchasing the program, the advantage of the dongle is that it would allow you to use Flowjo in different computers (although of course not in two different computers at the same time), so is a nice option for example if you plan to purchase the program for more than one person to use it, or if you routinely work in different computers during the day. The disadvantage is that by moving it around, there is always the risk of having it lost, and as far as I know, you can't get a replacement. If you want to have it for personal use, buying the license will work fine as well.
In my opinion, is the best program that I have use for flow cytometry analysis so far, and it's worth the price. You can always ask for a student discount if it applies to you. If you want to directly compare it side by side with other softwares, you can download a 30-days free trial.
