It seems that you are working at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, I would suggest you to consult the concern department who are concern with the disposal of biomedical wastes. The Tehran University of Medical Sciences must have a guidelines and procedure as well as disposal site that you must have to follow in order to dispose biomedical research wastes and toxicants.
Do not throw it in the laboratory sink or nearby that otherwise may cause environmental pollution. Since the guidelines for the disposal of biomedical wastes/toxic materials are different in various countries, follow the university guidelines for disposal of biomedical research wastes.
You need to check with the local regulatory authorities and safety advisor. Biohazardous waste should be disposed of according to the methods under Waste Disposal Procedures. Generally, hypochlorites such as sodium hypochlorite is a good general-purpose disinfectant. It should be the duty of every person working in cell culture laboratory to dispose of all biological waste safely in accordance with the established legislative requirements.
One of the most important aspects of management of all laboratory-generated waste is to dispose of waste regularly and not to allow biohazardous material to accumulate.
Different forms of waste require different treatment. For tissue culture waste, inactivate for at least 2 hours in a solution of hypochlorite (10,000ppm) prior to disposal to drain with an excess of water. It is always better that all contaminated biohazardous waste should be incinerated rather than autoclaved.
The local regulatory authority on biohazardous disposal would be the most appropriate person who would be able to guide you. Alternatively, your Institute must have formulated an SOP for biohazardous waste disposal. You could refer to that too.
