I want to measure the electrical conductivity of the brittle carbonized fabric. I found some standartds like ASTM D-257-14. I am not sure about the best standardized measurement method that would make it possible to compare different brittle samples.
My sample's thickness is not uniform. There are five conditions that must be satisfied to use van der Pauw method (ref. wikipedia) 1. The sample must have a flat shape of uniform thickness 2. The sample must not have any isolated holes 3. The sample must be homogeneous and isotropic 4. All four contacts must be located at the edges of the sample 5. The area of contact of any individual contact should be at least an order of magnitude smaller than the area of the entire sample
The question is that how can I standardize conductivity (resistivity) measurement conditions for my carbonized fabric
Thanks again Behnam Farid. Ohmic-contact is very important like as you underline. I measured my sample by 4 probe method (Keithley- 4 probe aparatus and software). But the pins are embedded in the material. Now I am not sure if I do correct measurement. What is your opinion. thanks.
