Do you integrate the delta function in k-space when you have the tool/code to calculate the E-k dispersion? In other words, which one is better: (1) smearing the delta function using Gaussian or (2) Lorentzian broadening: integration of the gradient of E(k) over constant energy line? Is there any special point or tip such as set up a cutoff during numerical calculation?
