I was thinking to compute the arithmetic mean and the standard deviation from RSSI data accumulated over time. This works when sensors are still but when moving the mean is not very representative. So my question is what method is the best representative for displaying this data.
The right data representation depends on what idea you need to convey. One example is showing a histogram of your data, if you want to illustrate the statistical distribution. If you want to show path loss, you can present RSSI values vs logarithm of distance and perform a regression. If you want to know if your nodes are always connected, you can display the minimum RSSI value and compare it to radio sensitivity values. I hope these examples are helpful.
I think a spectrum map would fit ur needs; what about displaying the RSSI values at each X,Y measurement location?
