To evaluate different HbA1c measuring methods, is it necessary to use HPLC as the reference method? Or can one use an HPLC-based program like ADAMS A1c HA-8180V? If both available which one do you recommend for better, more accurate and statistically more valid results?
Also, I’d appreciate it if you could give me any insight (book, paper, link, tutorial) on working with HPLC (Agilent 1260) for measuring HbA1c
I don't think so there is a good way to measure the HbA1 better than HPLC. Although there are many debates about what is the best way to measure HbA1c. Try these: (i) Capillary electrophoresis (Serbia Capillarys) (ii) by enzymatic digestion (Abbott Chemistry) and (iii) by ion exchange (BioRad D100).
HPLC will be a better technique for accurate results. Many of the Physicians will insist on HPLC results for HbA1c.

The requirement is measurement of HbA1c. There could be multiple methods of determination, but you have to look at a technique which is globally accepted. ADAMS A1c , is a fully automated Glycohemoglobin (HbA1c) analyzer and it is also working on HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) technology. HPLC has a larger acceptance worldwide and can be considered as a standard technique. That doesnot mean that ADAMS is an inferior technique. I am leaving it to you to take a final decision.
