Dubha, not only the RNA extraction is important, but also the plant tissue. Viroids are phloem-restricted, so using petioles, midribs and young green stem are the best tissue to sample from.

Are you targeting DNA or RNA viruses?

Mustafa A Adhab Thanks for your question. All viroids reported so far are small (250 to 400 nt, or maybe slightly larger) non-coding circular ssRNA elements.
