Probably Neural networks combined with wavelets will work better. Unless you can try Convolution Neural Networks for image classification. If any help requires, you can feel free to contact me @[email protected]

Convolutional neural network (CNN) is now widely applied in medical image classification especially when it is mixed with meta-heuristic-based optimizations (CNN-PSO, CNN-GA, CNN-WOA,...)
Neural network has an upper hand here; however, decision trees can be used with some modifications.
I think it depends on the dataset. But normally ResNet-50, VGG16 (trained on ImageNet Dataset), AlexNet etc performs well in image classification problem and also in medical image classification problem. Recently, i applied ResNet-50 in Chest X-Ray view classification problem and got satisfactory result.

thanks for all your informative suggestions. I have tried my first time CNN network which gives me 95% accuracy of a binary classification method. Now I have a slightly better understanding of ML and will dig into more details of your suggestions. I am happy to keep this discussion if any of you want to share or discuss anything in the future.
