I determinate the color in wastewater using a photometer, but sometimes there are results that do not seem to be consistent with what the sample is like.
I want to know which is the best methodology to determine the apparent color, considering that the samples are variable, I have ordinary and industrial waters (different industries).,
Measuring color in water is often based on measuring natural colour, which comes from humic substances. There may be other dyes in waste water. The turbidity can also affect optical measurements. Measuring on a filtered sample can possibly help. The Platium-Cobalt method is for "natural color".
From my point of views , the best method for determinate apparent color in wastewater is integral spectrophometry , because the standards methods to determine the indust effluent color is multiple dilution method which has defects
