we are loosing the Schottky I-V characteristics from the thin film/metal interfaces. But the the impedance spectra reads Schottky behavior correctly. could this be due to geometry? or high recombination at surface
Your problem is likely due to the surface states, considered by Bardeen [1] and Heine [2]. Preparing a contact surface of higher quality is likely to alleviate the problem.

Can you display the I- V curve and the impedance frequency diagram?
What is meant by ohmic metal? one said that the MS contact is rectifying (Schottky) or ohmic!

I mean a metal which make ohmic contact with semiconductor,
The IV is leaner no difference between the forwards and reverse current values its like typical resistance measurements
