I want to evaluate antioxidants levels of SOD, GSH, TAC, MDH and CAT. So I don't really know the best kits I should use considering the time, sensitivity and specificity.
We invented and evaluated the TAC (Total Antioxidant Capacity) - see https://omnignostica.at/product-details/dmp-20-4100-t-a-c
Antioxidants in the samples inhibit the attack of free radicals, initiated through a peroxide/peroxidase start-reaction associated with quenching of the colorimetric signal on the substrate tetramethylbenzidine. (Ref. doi:10.3390/antiox9010011)
I have used Sigma Chemicals kits to determine these antooxidants and free radicals in vitro cell cultures and tissues of experimental mice. I very much appreciate Dr. Willibald, s original invention.
If you are interested in estimating these antioxidants and free radicals, please perform Digital Fluorescence Imaging employing Molecular Probes recently developed by Invitrogen or Becton-Dickinson. Good luck with your research.
