if you need it for light microscope, i had tried the usual fixation with formalin ,and the result were satisfying, there is another fixative called bowans fixative but it gives the tissue a yellowish color
I have very good experience with Bouin's fluid too, for Testes [light microscopy] fixation. The yellow colour [from picric acid] which Duaa mentioned, will go away during rehydration/dehydration process for staining. So colour is not a problem. If it is freshly made fixation can be done by 4-5 hours but if it is not freshly made you have to fix it for 24 hours as glacial acetic acid won't be that stable in the solution.
Hope it helps and all the best for your future experiments.
Davidson's solution is the fixative of choice for testes. Bouin's is also good but you have to be able to deal with the picric acid as a potentially hazardous substance. Formalin is ok but does not give the best preservation of the various spermatocyte stages.
