can i use sodium bicarbonate? or there any better preservatives?
I don't have an idea about the applications of Sodium bicarbonate for this purpose. but you can try Sorbic acid, Organic acids (Acetic, Lactic, Citric) and Nisin
Have you check H2O2?
Hey Nyoman,
in my opinion it is quite uncommon to use preservatives in milk based drinks. Most of them are UHT-treated or at least pasteurized.
But please see attached a publication regarding your question.
Hi Irwan,
Following updated review might be helpful for you.
Regards,
There are other methods to be used for preserving milk and dairy products such as pasteurization and UHT.
Each country has its own laws and regulations for the use of addictives in milk or milk-based produts.
The European regulation, for example, doesn’t permit generally the use of any additive in drink milk and milk products.
Nevertheless, additives and conditions of use in particular milk products can be authorised.
For details, have a look at the attached document (Commisssion Regulation (EU) No 1129/2011).
