what the function of this test? when i have a dry syrup product which is when transferred still in solid and need to constitute later, this test is still used?

You need to find a method in the USP - National Formulary reference volume or equivalent in your location, preferably the same volume regulators are using in your area. When standard methods are not found then new methods can be proposed, bur with considerably more testing and validation, and a more lengthy approval process.
