You can use as general homogenization:

-Tris Buffered Saline (TBS), [10 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl ; pH 7.4]

-Or Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS), [10 mM potassium phosphate, 150 mM NaCl ; pH 7.4]

For example: use 500mg of the liver with 9 volumes of Buffer.
