I am working a research that deals with a cancer cell, I am an Independent reseacher and only have a small budget on buying cancer cells. What specie or organism that is a cancer-like (like cancer cells in nature) and can be easily found? I am working in 5 replicates so I find it difficult to buy expensive samples, particularly the carcinogenic cells. What can you suggest procedure for anti-cancer activities when it is in vivo. You can cite a research related topic please. Thank you so much.
A cancer cell has characteristics of its own that you will not find in any other type of cell. Cancer is not only a phenotype but it is mainly a genotype. No normal cell will have the genotype you need. Therefore, I think that what you are looking for, a cancer cell that is not a cancer cell, is something you will not find. Not as a substitute, but with some far resemblances you may use embryos...but these cells do not have the hallmarks of cancer. HeLa cells are unexpensive, and they are real cancer cells.
I mean, not a cancer-like exactly. A way similarity in cancer cells attact in cells, particularly the way it spreads and replicates. Our teacher suggested to find another type which is a low cost organism which is a way similar to cancer cells. I searched about this organism and I found 2 virus that can be similar to it but it is rare type.
