The way we express the uncertainties of a measurement is of high importance [Quide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement ]

Nevertheless in some publication seems not to give the appropriate importance

In a recent publication the measurements of activity concentration of Th was given for example as 253.18 ±25.23 or 7.59±1.25

Do you find that this is an acceptable way to express the combined uncertainty with so many significant digits? (253 ± 25)

Thanks
