I run career planning courses for PhD candidates at my university. I think it would be useful to give the attendees a broader understanding of what life is like as a early career researcher in different countries and institutes. I think our future leaders would be interested in rates of pay, expected hours and working conditions, contract lengths, funding opportunities and career progression opportunities.
