Pulo Friere in the "Padagogy of Oppressed" has mentioned use of charged words as "Generative Themes" to initiate action for social change. However this is little explanation of the term and tools which may be used to design social action based on these themes.

Dear Heather, thank you for this explanation. I understand that 1: Freire mentions using 'charged words' to identify generative themes 2. He connects these themes with community action- meaning themes that can generate community action to change the situation described by charged words. Given this background I have following questions 1. How a generative theme would be different from a non generative theme? 2. Are there any tools other than the community dialogue or 'literacy event' to convert charged words into themes and themes into action plans ? 3. how generative themes establish the connection between various subjectivities and establish a qualitatively different relationship? In think the concept generativ theme is also implying that it is not just brought from a teacher or imposing individual. It is a product of cooperation between a teacher/a circle leader and her/his students.
