The solvents we use are acetonitrile with formic acid in a Genevac MiVac
I think it's better not to exceed 37C, at which point your organic solvents are evaporated and your proteins are still active.

In any case, the general rule is to use the temperature indicated for the solvent mixture you want to evaporate. You can lower down a bit (e.g. from 60 to 40 C) if you believe (or measure) a loss of analyte.

There is actually a simplier and more efficient way...
I suppose you have a standard of THC.
And I suppose you have a blank blood sample.I would spike that blood and test different temperature, if you really want to clear any doubt.
You actually need to do spiked samples (as QC) anyways, right?
In fact we buy prepared QC from Arvecon. In our centrifuge evaporator, the max temperature that we can use is 80°C and this is not the real temp. in the sample because this the value of the evaporation chamber. THC is boiling at 157°C in its pure state so I think this will be ok. I'll say you that in a few days :)
