I am simulating the penetration of a pile inside a soil. And as it involves large deformations, some zone become too distorted and suddenly my computation halts. I cannot go further. Any help please?
You should know that the remeshing fish function is written only for the FLAC (2D) and is not used in FLAC 3D software. To prevent bad geometric errors in the FLAC 3D the following codes can be used:
Dr. Llano, In my opinion, you are not aware of finite-difference flac software! I have a question from you, do you think the methods you suggest are capable of large-scale deformation due to liquefaction with advanced liquefaction constitutive models such as PM4sand? I answer No, they are not so you should read more about software!!

Remeshing techniques induce interpolation error and consume a lot of computational time. I suggest you use a suitable numerical method for large deformations. If your approach is based of the continuum, I suggest the Material Point Method. Please take a look the available MPM codes here:
