Morphology is an important parameter in solar cells. Each layer of device must be uniform and homogeneous to get better performance. Now question is that: What is interfacial quenching? How it will affect device (solar cell) performance?
Surface quenching in constructing more efficient perovskite solar cells can be accomplished by adding self assembling mono-layer of specific molecular materials. Such mono layer affects the the arrangements of the deposited molecules of the perovskite such that they get more crystalline and more organised in the layer which means better film morphology. The consequence of this is to get a higher quality perovskite material. In addition such layer can quench the interface sates and render them inactive.
Therefore, one gets a higher photoconversion efficiency.
