In fact, Harvard system, also called the Author-Date system or the Name-Year system (N-Y system), is a generic term for any style of citation and referencing having author-date references in the text. A list of references arranged by authors' names and year of publication is given at the end of the document. In this system, emphasis is placed on the author and the date of the work to identify it distinctly. American Psychological Association (APA) style manual adopted Harvard system for writing references in their own way. This style is commonly used for referencing in psychology, sociology, and education.
