My High Risk Model of Threat Perception (Wickramasekera 1979,1988,1995,,1996,
2003,Wickramasekera,Davies,& Davies 1996) predicts that the greatest EFFICACY in reducing emotional instability, will be a multifactorial intervention.
.Altering the1) Predisposing & 3)Triggering risk factors, that drive emotional instability, will be most effective if 3) Buffered by therapy to increase positive affectivity(CBTherapy),increasing Approach coping skills( Moos 1993) and increasing individual a)satisfaction with or) the number of social support people in patients life.
The Predisposing factors that are most amenable to REDUCTION in humans are1)Catastrophizing(Zocco 1984) use CBT therapy and 2)High negative affectivity(use CBTtherapy and heart rate variability biofeedback(Zillmer and wickramasekera 1987) or hypnotherapy(Wickramasekera 1999).
