I have done sulphur analysis in my plant sample at different developmental stages. But for it you need CHNS analyser. I have done it with following method.
Five plants were collected randomly from each treatment and were wiped free of any adhering dust using double distilled water. Different vegetative parts were cut precisely into stem, leaves and roots and analysed at different developmental stages for assessing nitrogen (N), and sulfur (S) composition. Each sample was dried for 48 h in hot air oven at 65 °C. The dried samples were fine powdered and passed through a 72 mm mesh screen. The powder was stored in polyethylene bags labelled and used for analysis later. Estimation: Nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S) content (% dry weight) were analysed by packing the known weight of plant sample-powder in tin boats with the help of Elemantar system (CHNS Analyse, Vario EL.)
