Good day all, In ABAQUS Explicit, it has been mentioned that The stability limit is the ratio between Characteristic length of the element and the Dilatational Wave speed. The Dilatational wave speed is the square root of the ratio between Young’s modulus and Density.

Normally, the more denser the material, it is easier for waves to pass through (.i.e. Solids allow higher wave speed than liquids) . Hence wave speed should be directly proportional to density.But the Dilatational wave speed in indirectly proportional. Why?
