Hi, the pH of my soil samples before addingAmmonium dihydrogen phosphate was 5.4. so I like to know what happen to this pH after addition of Ammonium dihydrogen phosphate.
@ Lakmini, any phosphatic fertilizer may not easily affect the soil pH. Though the initial pH on application of phosphate fertilizers may differ ( in your case may marginally increase) but after a few days or few weeks the differences may disappear.
Soil has generally very strong buffering capacity as there are lot of chemistries playing their role in soil. The addition of acidic or alkaline material in soil will not affect soil pH , it may change initially but after hours-few days, depending on dose of application , it will come back to its original pH .
