What factors can be controlled the availability of cadmium (as spiked such as 6, 12 and 24 mg/kg) in calcareous soil with pH 7.44 and available P 19.65 mg/kg? (other results of soil that used for pot experiment was attached)
Cadmium is a rather toxic element in nature and it goes along with Zn which it can substitute for in almost all Zn minerals such as sphalerite (ZnS) which forms a s.s.s. with Greenokite (CdS). For your experiments the natural s.s.s. between ZnCO3 (smithsonite) and otavite (CdCO3) may be relevant. The later s.s.s. is tpyical of arid to semiarid duricrusts and soils. I met them in Tunisia on top of Zn deposits where these Cd carbonates are very common.
