From what I can interpret, it means making a 8mM Ammonium chloride stock solution using Deionized water, then gradually adding ammonium hydroxide (28%, 14M) until the pH meter reads 9 or 10 pH. Is that correct? Should the approximate percent of ammonium hydroxide required to reach each pH be determine first then added all at once, or should I gradually add it in until its approximately the pH on the meter? What determines the molarity of solutes required when making buffer solutions?
