I am about to start a new project on the behaviour of habituated, wild foxes, and would like to conduct focal observations on these animals without disrupting their natural behaviour too much. I'm a bit leery of using powerful spotlights, for example. I'm in the process of buying equipment, and would love to hear any advice on the best practices and especially equipment for following around fast-moving nocturnal mammals. I've tried night-vision monoculars before and had quite a bit of difficulty...
