I work on microbial production of Silver Nanoparticles . In the step of synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles  it was written that The reaction between the supernatant and Ag+ ions was carried out in bright conditions for 24 hours.

so what does bright conditions mean ?

I know that silver nitrate is sensitive for light .  I tried to make a solution of Silver nitrate at a concentration of 10-3 and keep it in light for weeks and the color does not change.

I used to cover the flasks ( Bactria supernatant + silver nitrate) during the experiment but the brown color does not appear , but when I keep it in light ,it appears which is the evidence of formation of silver nanoparticles.

My questions are :

Does light effect the formation of silver Nanoparticles ?

which kind of light do I need ; Sun light or room light ? I use close shaker so should I put light inside it ?

** I attached one of the paper I use .
