Various strategies for targeted protein degradation have been developed using the ubiquitin-proteasome system or the autophagy-lysosome system (PROTAC, LYTAC, etc.). However, despite significant advances in technological diversity, targeted protein chemotherapy does not lead to cancer cell death. These technologies will be useful in slowing cancer progression, but not stopping tumor progression completely.

Do you think that killing cancer cells during protein degradation is a more promising strategy, since the fewer cancer cells that survive, the fewer chemotherapy-resistant mutants appear?
