I have synthesized an organic compound which have no structural similarity with any of the existing once. But I am sure that the compound is a mixture of its isomers which is inseparable (I already tried various methods). To submit the paper regarding this synthesis, what data I would need? Will the journal accept the mixture as a novel compound or I need to separate the isomers anyhow.
There is no answer to your question. It depends on quality of your data and on the reviewers decision.
If peaks of particular isomer identifiable in NMR, I think it can be publishable.
It also depends in part on what is the intended use. Some applications may have greater tolerance for mixtures
If one of them is in major amount in NMR it may be an added advantage.
