Generally plant drug is dissolved in DMSO for antimicrobial activity. so is it toxic?
Unfortunately, each cell has is own suceptibility to DMSO. If you dissolve your antimicrobial drug in DMSO, you should add a control with DMSO only.
Each micoorganism has different sensitivity towards DMSO. Generally accepted is less then 10% of DMSO, but I think that sometimes even 1% is sufficient to help the compound to enter the cell. So the later interpretation of results is quite tricky.
