I am trying to culture chrondrocytes in alginate, but cell death is 90% after counting. How can I culture cells and have viability at day 7?

I have followed several protocolos and even manufactures specifications (LONZA), but I have not obtained cell viability at the end of the assay. Moreover, cells are death by day three.
