In our lab, we often get contamination from endophytic fungi and bacteria in sugarcane explants (young leaf sheath and buds). I will like to know about experience of other related researchers in this type of issue.
Cefotaxime is used by many researcher to prevent contamination in tissue culture. I also have used it and got very good results. But I don't have the experience of sugarcane tissue culture.
As Rajesh Dev Sarkar pointed out, for specific answer either you need to search in the scientific literature or perform your own experiment. There are several papers on the use of antibiotics in sugarcane tissue culture, and Cefotaxime can also be used.
