We have this proposal to use immunochromatography, or lateral flow assay test, to detect Glaucoma. After doing some related literature search, I found an article suggesting tears as a great biomarker for ocular diseases. This led to the proposal of using tears as the fluid sample. We learned that Immunoglobin G (IgG) is a good biomarker for Glaucoma, and is also present in tears. There is a study relating to this (See here: https://sci-hub.do/https://bjo.bmj.com/content/63/5/297.short) however, the link can't be accessed. I would just like to know if tears contain enough IgG to detect Glaucoma, and could there be other possible markers for Glaucoma? Maybe Hg concentrations in the eyes, or salinity of the tears?

Thank you.
