When DAPI staining to check for mycoplasma contamination, it is good to use 100X oil immersion if you have it. If you do not want to check via microscopy, or if you want to include something less subjective for a publication, I think that the Venor GeM OneStep Mycoplasma Detection Kit for Conventional PCR (Minerva Biolabs GmbH, Berlin, Germany) is a good option.
