To be honest, since Luznik et al. published their work on haploidentical transplantation with high dose cylcophosphamide shortly after transplantation in order to deplete t cells, the rate of CB transplantation has surely decreased. However, some advantages will always remain: Less GvHD, ready-to-use drug, therefore rapid availability, possibility to transplant although there are missmatches...
On the contrary, you may get delayed engraftment due to low cell doses transplanted, maybe less GvL effect, maybe more virus infections.
