I need someone to help me with the steps I will follow to simulate red blood cell in a unit cell of Deterministic lateral displacement device through comsol multiphysics.
First you have to decide which kind of coupling you want to have. You can of course simulate the flow field and then follow passive particles to probe the streamlines. But this would not be what you want to do, and in fact it would not tell you much about the real behaviour of an RBC in that device.
So you should find out how to simulate an RBC in COMSOL. Is this actually possible? Do you want to have fully deformable cells or only "blobs" that have a similar shape?
To be honest, I think that COMSOL is not very suitable for this task.
Still you have to make sure that COMSOL gets the boundary condition at the surface of the blobs right. The problem with DLD modelling is that the presence of the particle affects the shape of the streamlines. Without proper coupling, your simulation will not tell you anything.
