I am trying to calculate the rainfall-erosivity index EI30 using 30-minutes interval rainfall data. For that I have a few questions on the requirement and steps for the calculation.

1. Low intensity rainfall will not affect the erosivity so I need to exclude low intensity rainfall data. The question is, should I exclude data less than 2.5mm/hr or 25mm/hr? Because some places said 2.5mm/hr and others said 25mm/hr.

2. To calculate the unit kinetic energy, e I will use the formula; 210 + 89log10(rainfall intensity, I). Because I'm using 30-min interval rainfall, there will be several intervals in one rainfall event. Does e need to be calculated for each rainfall interval in the event and totalled at the end or does e only need to be calculated once with the average rainfall intensity from all the intervals in the event?

3. I am quite confused with the unit conversion for the R data. I managed to convert my data until ton.m2/ha.hr, but I am stuck there. I still haven't managed to convert my final data from ton.m2/ha.hr to MJ.mm/ha.hr. So it would be very appreciated if someone could teach me how to do the conversion.

Your willingness to help is genuinely appreciated. Should there be further insights or guidance you could provide to ease my confusion on this matter, I would be incredibly grateful for your support. Your expertise would be invaluable in navigating through this issue. Additionally, to ensure continued communication, please feel free to reach out to me via email at [email protected]. I am eager and open to further discussions or insights you may have.
