What are the potential risks associated with the use of viral vectors in gene therapy?

I need to know the risks associated with the use of viral vectors.

This depends on the type of viral vector you would like to use.

There are two categories of viral vectors: 1. Those that can integrate their genomic material in the host's one, subsequently sustained expression. 2. The others can not integrate their genomic material in the host's one and cause temporary expression of GOI.

In general the most common problems are mutagenic and immunogenic effects.
