The fishes color is changed naturally due to adaptation and reproduction through chromatophores but changing the color of fishes for ornamental purposes are increasing therefore synthetic coloring is adapted for businesses.Though there some practices but success rate based on reliability is low.Also the fishes are undergoing stressful conditions leading to its survival impact.Thus need some useful and easy techniques to manipulate a fish's color.
Cross-breeding may be one answer. I've seen siamese fighting fish in variety of color through it.
Definitely the cross-breeding between different varieties is the simplest way to set a certain color in some fish. There is an infinity of antecedents in aquarium fishes in which the individuals are very different from the original fish. In fact, the carp is a very good example, where not only has its color changed but its structure through the time. Another way to do it is by biotechnological techniques. For example there are varieties of ornamental fishes that have had genes incorporated that make them fluorescent. It would be interesting to know your real need to adjust the response to your request.
Thank you for the response...I was expecting a simple, short term technique with long lasting transformation of fish colour naturally or semi natural not involving any caustic treatment.
Unfortunately genetics needs time and biotech gene is not easy. I know that some people stain fishes as tatoos, but I think that is not only awful but gainst animal welfare.
I strongly agree to you, What if I can change using fish food or dermal patches to deliver the colour.Is there any such chance of manipulation rather than injecting into the organism?
