For 5G Millimeter-wave based outdoor communications, the expected frequency bands are in-between 38~40 GHz. Can anyone provide the standards set by the regulatory bodies for front-end design, such as, base-station large -scale antenna system design.
You can find plenty of standard documents at 3GPP's website, but these are generally very hard to understand. I recommend you to read one of the books that have been written about 5G NR, for example:
Thank you so much Emil. It is indeed a very latest literature related to 5G. Highly appreciated.
Actually, I am more interested to look for a document provided by some regulatory bodies that may define the micro-cell ranges, coverage mechanisms, and radiation profiles (patterns, gain, EIRP etc). Also, the frequencies for outdoor, indoor, if the standards are frozen by any authority so far.
It seems to me that no update has been concluded about the final conclusion, particularly from the regulatory aspect (some one pls correct me if I am mistaken here). It would be nice if some 3GPP delegates from industry could come to here and share something (finalized and has/can be published) with us. I think 3GPP might adopt or at least consider what FCC or IMT-2020 have suggested.
As continued from above, for example, FCC has specified some technical rules that, as quoted here "The average power of the sum of all antenna elements is limited to a maximum EIRP or EIRP Density of 75 dBm/100 MHz for fixed and based stations, 43dBm/Mobile Stations, 55 dBm for transportable Stations" [1]. In some paper published earlier by us, we've precisely followed FCC rules to conduct link budget calculation and system architecture design [2].

Dr Emil Björnson and Faris B. Mismar , is there any updated book available to track 3GPP updates?
Last time Dr Emil Björnson mentioned "5G NR The Next Generation Wirless Access Tech", it was really helpful. I am wondering if there has been any new book recently published?
thanks Shahriar Shahabuddin . It is a good book indeed. Additionally, I would like to know if any book is covering beamforming (hybrid beamforming) specifically. Thanks again!
