I study on the pollutant source identification in the urban area. I am going to recommend the possible solutions to the reduction of the Water, Air, Soil, Groundwater, Noise and Electromagnetic Waves pollutants effects, separately.
Is there any practical solutions to the mentioned pollutant effect reduction?
For an example, how can be reduced the air pollution in the populated urban area?
I wonder if anybody will be shared own experience in this regards.

Rainwater harvesting for groundwater recharge in case od deeper aquifer (say more than 10m) is on of the most important to avoid contamination of groundwater. If rainwater scattered or collected (in low lying area) than pollutants will be added with time which will be ultimately percolated to groundwater. One has to make separate arrangement for harvesting rainwater otherwise because of its high volume it will be become carrier to groundwater contamination. So rainwater harvesting will not only improve groundwater availability but also reduce the chances of contamination. Infact will improve existing groundwater quality.
Most urban areas can be considered as disturbed areas both in ecological and hydrological terms. Pollution reduction should look at the watershed system as a whole to evaluate sources, transfer process, and the fate of each pollutant. One important practical solution is to increase urban vegetation. Constructed wetlands can be used in strategic locations to treat contaminated runoff. Vegetated buffer strips could be used to minimize contamination movement in urban areas. Soil remediation to improve ecosystem functions could also be another aspect to consider through remediation through biochar or other treatment methods. Urban policies should deal with mitigating stormwater runoff which is a major transfer mechanism of water-borne pollutants. Strategically placed urban trees could mitigate windborne contaminants to vulnerable regions.

Dear Timothy, in regards to your comment I didn't understand the biochar method which you recommended as a treatment method for the soil pollution reduction.
Could you please explain that what does the biochar method? Please, explain it clearly and easy to understand.
Also, how the constructed wetlands can be operated as treatment method? In the urban area which is limited to the mountain, how can we be able to implement it?
