The consumers schedule their loads as per the changes in price of electricity. During high electricity price region, the consumers curtail their loads and redistributes the load during low electricity price region. This reduces the peak to average ratio and improves the load curve which in fact reduces the burden on the power systems. while doing so there is a chance of accumulation of loads which creates local peaks at low electricity time horizon. There is one way to reduce the occurrence of this payback effect by limiting the amount of load shift. Is there any other alternative to avoid this effect?
