I stored hydrogel open air for several days and it lost more than 50% of its weight. It is true that the main reason of hydrogel weight reduction is loose of its water content as hydrogel is mainly composed of water. But my question is: - is there any other mechanisms contributing for this?
Good day! The only way of water loss should be dedicated to its evaporation. Is it evaporated according to loose hydrogen bonds.However, different kinds of water may be classified - physically adsorbed water, chemically absorbed water, fiber/pore entrapped water.
