When it comes to preventing and treating high blood pressure, one often-overlooked strategy is managing stress. The thing is how can one identify the cause of stress?

I find that your question is very important to reduce the risks of an unhealthy lifestyle and, consequently, a decrease in the Quality of Life.
Said that and premised that I am not a medical doctor (but I modestly confess that Medical Sciences are one of my Passions), I have noticed that we are exposed to two types of stress: physical stress and mental stress.
Two types of stress that, sometimes, can be strictly combined each other.
The psycho-physical sphere is associated with our biosystem and, our "engines", as each "machine" of each system, could be characterized by a crash experience and/or by something able to reduce their own performance ability.
MAIN CAUSES:
* Lack or Loss of enthusiasm in own activities;
* Feeling misunderstood;
* Fighting against injustice;
* Loss of certainties / uncertainty about important spheres of life;
* Disappointments (private and professional context);
* Permanent sadness and/or unsatisfaction;
* Living without Great Perspectives.
Moreover - and not less important - it would be interesting to mention the psychosomatic stress disorders to be treated in the best possible way.
In my modest opinion, facing stress and its consequences - physical, psychological, biochemical and psycho-emotional impacts (and much more) - is a delicate challenge: it is a kind of multi-tasking "tour de force".
Stress could cause the well-know phenomenon so-called "burnout" (terrible collapse) and alarming periods of overload - in terms of mental conditions.
Therefore, let's take care of ourselves when Body invite us to slow down the pace, because we need to respect our valuable and unique Biosystem.
* I apologize with the medical doctors which will be offering their own valuable and great comments, but I just felt to leave my modest opinion because I am in love with Medical Science. That's all.
Main causes of stress: 1 - Badly planned schedule; 2 - Invincible bad habits and believes; 3 - Inability to find a common ground with people; 4 - Over- or under-estimating own personal and/or professional abilities and capabilities.
Aging, diagnosis of a new disease, and symptoms or complications from a current illness can increase your stress.
Relationships
Arguments with your spouse, parent, or child can increase your stress levels. When you live together.
Personal beliefs
Arguments about personal, religious, or political beliefs can challenge you, especially in situations where you can’t remove yourself from the conflict.
Emotional problems
When you feel unable to relate to someone, or you need to express your emotions but can’t, it can weigh you down with additional stress.
Life changes
The death of a loved one, changing jobs, moving houses, and sending a child off to college are examples of big life changes that can be stressful. Even positive changes, such as retirement or getting married, can cause a significant amount of stress.
Money
Financial trouble is a common source of stress. Credit card debt, rent, or the inability to provide for your family or yourself can put a serious amount of stress on you.
I believe that the main causes of stress are the failure to achieve the goals we seek, constant thinking about the future, lack of teamwork, self-love, vigilance or sometimes unproductive work for long periods of time.
