High population growth is accelerating land crisis. At a same time green cover is decreasing rapidly all over the world. In urban areas, the rate is even severe.
The countries (for instance Bangladesh), urban greenary is decreasing swiftly over the years specially in cities. So it's time to know the barrier to expand forest cover and remove the barrier ASAP.
Urban forestry can be a sustainable solution. But, What are the major problems to establish urban forestry except land crisis?
A testing challenge to expanding urban forestry (including urban greening) may be to define (or delineate) the practice in such ways that do not limit it to arborists, foresters, or horticulturalists but—rather—open it up for expanded research, innovation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Only by integrating other disciplines (e.g., architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, etc.) and applying novel management strategies can urban forestry (including urban greening) be made part of complex urban systems.
A high density vegetation in cities, which includes trees may pose challenges to maintain the safety of citizens from crimes. However, given the several ecological services trees can provide this issue should not limit efforts in urban reforestation.

My experience is limited to managing trees on a university campus where safety from crime (especially in the US) is a big priority. I do not think there is much literature on this topic (at least I am not aware of works addressing this issue).
