I need to know the detailed steps ideas and problems that Newton was working on and from which he developed his method of fluxions (Methods of Calculus).
This is a good question, because the relevant publications about the history of mathematics (e.g. Kitcher 1973, cited in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Method_of_Fluxions) do not address Newton's motivations. As far as I know, Newton was mainly concerned with solving celestial mechanics problems, e.g. the calculation of comet orbits. For the application of the law of gravity he developed, he needed the infitesimal calculus, which he then helped to develop himself.
Thank you very much for the question. Wikipedia quoted by Dr. Wolfgang R. Dick is amazingly full of errors and have a bias towards mathematicians from Europe etc.
Quoting from Dr. CK Raju's web page titled Calculus: the real story.
Newton thought, as in his theory of fluxions, that this could be done by making time metaphysical (“mathematical time which flows equably”). The error about time was the reason why his physics failed. This history has contemporary value.
